UniMart Expands to Winter Park, Bringing Japanese Konbini Culture to a Second Central Florida Location
Chef William Shen’s Japanese Convenience Store Concept to Open in December
WINTER PARK, Fla. — Following a strong debut at Mills Market in Orlando, UniMart is expanding to Winter Park, with a second location set to open in December 2026. The Japanese-style convenience store concept by Chef William Shen will bring its mix of freshly prepared Japanese food, snacks and specialty goods to a new neighborhood, with an expanded selection of offerings arriving just in time for the holiday season.
Located at 501 N. Orlando Ave., Suite 227, between Blaze Pizza and Light on the Sugar, the 1,000-square-foot shop builds on the concept introduced at Mills Market, where its opening drew a line of shoppers eager to experience a Japanese konbini in Orlando.
Inspired by Japan’s beloved convenience stores, UniMart pairs everyday accessibility with a curated selection of Japanese food and goods. Shen, whose restaurant Sorekara holds two Michelin stars, developed the concept to bring the variety and familiarity of Japan’s konbini culture to Central Florida. His broader portfolio also includes UniGirl, ZARU, Cowboy Curry and Okonomi at Mills Market.
At the original Mills Market location, popular offerings include Uni’s konbini fried chicken, bento boxes, and freshly prepared sushi, nigiri, and chirashi bowls alongside Japanese snacks and other grab-and-go favorites.
The Winter Park location will build on that selection with new additions, including matcha, soft serve and fresh produce, with an emphasis on Japanese fruits. Guests can also expect a broader range of hot and cold selections, as well as omiyage, Japanese souvenirs and specialty gifts traditionally shared with friends and family after traveling.
From a quick meal to a new snack or a specialty item, UniMart aims to bring the experience of browsing a Japanese convenience store closer to home, offering a convenient stop for everyday essentials and discoveries alike.
UniMart Winter Park will be open daily, with an anticipated opening in December 2026.
