Now Open: Sujuo Korean Eatery Opens September 11th

Sujuo Korean Eatery is set to open September 11 in Orlando, led by Paula Ahn, the longtime partner behind MICHELIN-recognized Taste of Chengdu. The new restaurant is opening at 5474 Central Florida Pkwy, Orlando, FL 32821 near Seaworld. Ahn has spent years helping build Taste of Chengdu alongside chef Xiong “Tiger” Tang, whose Sichuan cooking earned the restaurant repeated MICHELIN Bib Gourmand recognition.

The name Sujuo (??) refers to the spoon-and-chopstick utensil set traditionally used in Korean dining, a fitting name for a restaurant built around sharing food around the table. Sujuo describes the menu as “Korean comfort, modern flavor,” with crispy, saucy and sizzling Korean dishes alongside more playful fusion ideas.

For Sujuo, their kitchen team brings great pedigree including Chefs Lim and Diana who were trained in Korea, Australia, and America and at Culinary Institute of America.

Menu Highlights:

• Gochu-Cream Crispy Shrimp – $15: fried shrimp in a sweet, spicy creamy sauce.
• Sujuo Sliders – $5 each: The buns are made with makgeolli rice wine bread, with fillings including bulgogi, Korean fried chicken or spicy pork.
• Yukhoe – $20: Korean beef tartare served with Korean pear and raw egg yolk.
• Jeon Sampler – $18 and Ju-an Sang – $28: the latter pairs assorted Korean savory pancakes with a choice of soju or makgeolli, which gets at the Korean tradition of anju, food meant to be eaten with drinks.
• Rosé Tteokbokki – $18: rice cakes in a creamy spicy sauce with a hard-boiled egg. They also offer the more traditional spicy version for $16.
• Manduoli – $15: four mandu dumplings cooked in a mushroom cream sauce.
• Budae Army Gumbo – $18: described as a Korean-style rice gumbo
• Sujuo Dosirak meal sets – $18–$26: rice, three side dishes and soup or salad with choices like spicy chicken, spicy pork, bulgogi or steak marinated in galbi sauce.

Dessert bingsu menu includes: red bean, matcha, melon, mango and assorted fruit versions run from $15 to $23. They also serve hotteok, a pan-fried cinnamon-sugar and walnut pastry with ice cream.
